It’s a Privilege to Do What God Has Entrusted Me to Do

When we are mindful of what a holy and wondrous privilege it is to do what He's entrusted us to do, it will change the way we work, lead, live, create, think.

WHATEVER you've been entrusted by God to do, I hope you’ll see it as an honorable and noble thing… something beautiful, wonderful, and purposeful for your good and others, and for His glory.

Ask God to show you why He’s put certain gifts/talents/skills in your hands and how He wants you to use them in this season. There’s more eternal purpose and Kingdom impact in your hands than you might realize. Steward it well, stay humble, stay in step with Him, and you’ll be amazed at how He uses you.

If this resonates with you, here's a prayer to put in your own words:

God, thank you for the privilege of getting to do what You have entrusted me to do. Help me to never take it for granted, or ever try to do this apart from Your Spirit helping and leading me. Help me to remember You have called, qualified, and anointed me to do this work. Help me to stay humble, obedient, thankful, and grounded in You.
Help me to work diligently, efficiently, wisely, productively, and lovingly... mindful of the task, the responsibility, the people, the purpose, the mission, and the reason I'm doing what I’m doing. Help me to lay down things that distract me from being focused and disciplined. Help me to not shrink back in fear or intimidation, but to move onward and forward in faith.
Cause me to remember I am here to serve others, not to serve myself or my own interests. Create in me a pure heart toward others, that I would believe the best in people first, not last. Give me a guileless heart that is innocent before You and man.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight. Let all I do in word, deed, action, thought, use of my time, resources… let it be honoring to You.
Help me to always remember it’s a privilege to do what You have entrusted me to do.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Much love, my friends.

Cheering for You

"Not many of you have met me face-to-face, but that doesn’t make any difference. Know that I’m on your side, right alongside you. You’re not in this alone. I want you woven into a tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then you will have minds confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God’s great mystery. All the richest treasures of wisdom and knowledge are embedded in that mystery and nowhere else. And we’ve been shown the mystery! I’m telling you this because I don’t want anyone leading you off on some wild-goose chase, after other so-called mysteries… I’m a long way off, true, and you may never lay eyes on me, but believe me, I’m on your side, right beside you..."
Colossians 2:1-5, The Message

I may not meet most of you this side of heaven, but the reason I share my heart so often in this online space is that I believe in you and I want to cheer you on. But I'm only one of many others in a great company of others on earth who are cheering you on in your God-given purpose.

You have been created with a lovely, unique, strategic, for-such-a-time-as-this purpose. Sometimes it may feel like your purpose and calling is a great mystery. There is so much we don't fully know and understand, but the beautiful thing is God wants to reveal things to you that seem like a mystery.

All we need, and all we need to know, are found in Jesus Christ. There is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, making known things that were once hidden and unknown, and revealing them to us by His Spirit. He wants you to know HIS heart for your life, not just what the world is saying.

I love that He uses ordinary people to come alongside one another... weaving us into a beautiful tapestry of love... cheering each other on, extending grace, rising up in strength, fighting for (not against) one another, speaking life over each other, and praying boldly so our faith is strengthened.

So, dear friends, near, far, those I’ve met and those I haven’t (yet)… if I could look you in the eyes, I would, and I’d encourage you to be confident and at rest… eyes focused on Christ. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are found in Jesus and He will reveal Himself to you. And lest you wonder, I am on your side. I believe in you.

XO, Andrea
